After agreeing to tour India from Nov 1 following the the West Indies' refusal to complete the tour, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Sunday said it will host India in a Test series instead of travelling to India in August 2015.

"As we are obliging India with a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series there next month, India are obliged to return the tour next year and we have switched the Test series," SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga was quoted as saying by espncricinfo.com.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to confirm the swap. It is understood that the BCCI has held preliminary discussions with SLC in this regard.

The proposal of switching the venue for the 2015 Test series will be put before the working committee of the board for consideration, which will finalise the arrangement, according to a senior BCCI functionary.

By hosting the three-Test series with India, SLC stands to make around $7-8 million, according to Ranatunga. No ODIs or Twenty20 Internationals will be included in the itinerary.

Both the countries have not met since the 2010 series when world's highest wicket-taker Mutthiah Muralitharan retired.
