SRK 'enthused about life' after meeting Mamata

An "enthused" Shah Rukh Khan relished his rendezvous with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee here Wednedsay ahead of a special performance with "Happy New Year" (HNY) cast members to celebrate the success of their latest offering.

SRK along with Farah, Sonu Sood met Banerjee.

SRK tweeted, "In Kolkata I always get so enthused about life when I meet MamataDi. Her energy and the fish I get to eat. Now to Xaviers in a bit."

The Farah Khan-directed "Happy New Year", which released Oct 24, has turned out to be a gold spinner - it minted Rs.108.86 crore in the opening weekend.

 

SRK arrived in Kolkata with Farah to entertain audiences at a show in St. Xavier's College with HNY actors Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

The heist drama also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff and Boman Irani.

SRK arrived in the city in style with Farah beside him and was instantly surrounded by a huge crowd of people snapping photos and clamouring for autographs. Ringed by his security detail, he was whisked away in a vehicle.

Produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. (RCE), the film raked in Rs.104.10 crore in Hindi, the dubbed Telugu version grossed Rs.2.92 crore, while the Tamil version earned Rs.1.84 crore.

HNY has become the highest opening weekend ranker in Indian films so far.
