India and China have a shared interest in having a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here Thursday.
He said he had a "good talk" with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is on a three-day official visit to India. The two agreed to strengthen strategic dialogue between India and China.
"We agreed that there is a need for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan," Modi said, adding India and China would enhance cooperation to tackle the challenges of extremism and terrorism.
"We will also strengthen cooperation on shared issues of international interest," Modi said.
