Broadcast partner Star wants IMG-Reliance to postpone the inaugural Indian Super League (ISL) since it is clashing with the Champions League Twenty20.
The Champions League T20 cricket tournament is likely to start Sep 7 while the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has given IMG-Reliance a window of Sep 18-Dec 7 for the eight-team ISL.
Star, who are also the promoters of the ISL, doesn't want the league to clash with the Champions League T20.
"Star have requested us to change the dates of the league. But it will be extremely difficult for us. We are still in talks with Star to find a viable solution," senior IMG-Reliance official Priti Srivastava told IANS here Wednesday.
AIFF secretary general Kushal Das also told IANS that the national calendar cannot be compromised for the ISL.
"We have given them the window and they have to host the ISL during that period," he said.
