A steel firm manger was arrested, along with two security guards of the company and another person, in Rajasthan by Delhi Police for receiving a robbed truck carrying nine tonnes of steel worth Rs.4 lakh, police said Saturday.
Kaushal Kumar Singh, 43, manager of a private steel firm in Rajasthan, was arrested Friday from Bhiwadi in Rajasthan along with the guards of the company Yogesh Saini, 30, and Mritunjay Kumar Gupta, 42, for receiving the steel robbed from Delhi the same day.
Another accused, Subhash, 22, who worked as a conduit between the robbers and the stolen steel's receivers, was also taken into custody, police said.
The accused revealed that robber Rahul, a resident of Haryana, along with his father-in-law Ashru, a resident of Alwar in Rajasthan, and their associates looted the truck from east Delhi's Ghazipur area Friday around 3.30 a.m. and handed it over to the arrested accused.
"The main robbers and their associates are absconding," said an investigating officer.
"The robbers, who were in another truck of their own, captured the steel-laden truck's driver Mohan and his helper Sunil Patel on the pretext of seeking directions to Ghaziabad's Mohan Nagar," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar.

They overpowered the victims, took them to Gurgaon and locked them in a room in the fields and fled with the steel-laden truck, police said.
With the help of electronic surveillance, two teams of Delhi Police raided an abandoned factory's premises in Chopanki Industrial Area in Bhiwadi in Rajasthan and recovered the looted truck along with the raw steel in it, he said.
