Stocks of industry majors pare loses as BJP emerges victorious

Stocks of industry majors pared some of their loses to end on a flat-to-positive note on Monday as BJP emerged victorious in Assembly elections in both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

The scrip of industry majors like Reliance Industries, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), Tata Motors and Vedanta among others had slid substantially during the early hours of the trade session.

The scrip of Reliance Industries closed flat at Rs 919.40, down just Rs 0.50 or 0.05 per cent from its previous close of Rs 919.90. The scrip had touched an intra-day low of Rs 861.70.

On the other hand, the stocks of APSEZ traded at Rs 404.30, up by Rs 2.35 or 0.58 per cent from its previous close of Rs 401.95. It had touched an intra-day low of Rs 374.30.

 

On the same note, Vedanta's scrip stood at Rs 308.65, up Rs 10.65 or 3.57 per cent from its previous close. The stock had touched a low of Rs 286.55.

The scrip of Tata Motors closed the day's trade at Rs 405.50, up Rs 0.35 or 0.09 per cent from its previous close of Rs 405.15. The scrip had touched an intra-day low of Rs 389.75.

Tata Steel's scrip price stood at Rs 704.70, up Rs 9.75 or 1.40 per cent from its previous close. The stock had touched a low of Rs 675.
