Japan international Shinji Okazaki moved from Bundesliga side Stuttgart to join league rival Mainz until June 2016.
Okazaki will reinforce Mainz's offence for the upcoming Bundesliga season 2013- 2014 following a signature under a three-year contract here Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
The 27-year-old striker played two years for Stuttgart slotting ten goals in 63 appearances. He has been a part of the Japan national soccer team and has scored 35 goals in 66 appearances.
"We are pleased that Shinji opted for Mainz. He is a team player, versatile in the offence and goal threatening," Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel commented.
Mainz finished the campaign 2012- 2013 on 13th position with 42 points.
