Sultry Monday in Delhi, rain likely Tuesday

The national capital experienced a sultry Monday with the maximum temperature a notch above average at 34.6 degrees Celsius. The Met office expects rain Tuesday in some parts of the city.

"There would be light rain and thundershowers in some parts of the city Tuesday," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The minimum temperature settled at 26.7 degrees Celsius, which is the season's average. Humidity wavered between a high and low of 89 and 68 percent.

Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Since the monsoon's arrival in June, Delhi has received 515.6 mm of rain, 37 percent more than average.

 

Sunday's maximum and minimum temperature was recorded at 33.2 degrees and 26.1 degree Celsius, respectively.
