The capital experienced a sultry day Wednesday as the maximum temperature was recorded a notch above the season's average at 34.9 degree Celsius. The Met office has forecast a wet Independence Day.
"There would be rain and thundershowers in some areas of the city Thursday," said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
While the minimum temperature settled at 26.1 degree Celsius, average for this time of the year, the humidity was recorded between a high and low of 90 and 60 percent.
The maximum temperature Thursday would hover around 33 degree Celsius, the official said.
Since the monsoon's arrival in June, Delhi has got 515.6 mm of rain, 29 percent more than average.
Tuesday's minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the maximum was normal at 33.6 degrees Celsius.
