Sunanda Pushkar murder: Nalini Singh questioned

Senior journalist Nalini Singh was questioned here in connection with the murder case of Sunanda Pushkar, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's wife, police said Friday.

Singh was called by the probe team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Prem Nath at Sarojini Nagar police station, where she was questioned for over an hour.

Singh told IANS: "I met them (police) for about 80 minutes. This was my first meeting with the police."

Police told IANS that Singh was questioned about the Indian Premier League (IPL) angle regarding which Pushkar had wanted to talk to her.

On Thursday, the team had questioned another television anchor, Rahul Kanwal, to whom Pushkar had wanted to give an interview on certain undisclosed issue.

 

Both the journalists were questioned soon after Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi told media that they would take the help of those journalists who had talked to Pushkar before her death to corroborate the sequence of events.

Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel room here Jan 17, 2014. Police said she was poisoned. A murder case was registered by the police against unknown people Jan 1 this year.
