Malayalam superstar Mammootty celebrated his 65th birthday on Wednesday on the sets of the upcoming film "The Great Father".
Sporting a beard, the star cut cakes at the location near Thrissur and later at a public function.
Earlier, he arrived at a school near the shooting location and interacted with the students.
He told them it was important what a person contributes to the country and not how long a person lives or how he or she lives.
Starting his film career in the 1980s, he has acted in over 370 films including "Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha", "Inspector Balram" and "Oru CBI Diary Kurippu".
His son Dulquer Salmaan is also an actor.
