Actor Suriya is set to release the trailer of upcoming crowdfunded Tamil film "Naalu Peruku Nalladhuna Eduvum Thappila".
The movie has been made for under Rs.1 crore.
Directed by debutant Dinesh Selvaraj, an erstwhile assistant of celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam, the film predominantly features newcomers.
"Dinesh's father Selvaraj worked as a writer with Suriya's father Sivakumar on nearly 20 films. When Selvaraj spoke to Sivakumar about his son's film, the latter spoke to his son Suriya and requested him to unveil the trailer," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
Director Dinesh and Suriya have known each other for a long time.
"Dinesh had known Suriya since he was working as an assistant on Mani Ratnam's 'Aayutha Ezhuthu'. He even worked with Suriya on an advertisement for Aircel. When Suriya was requested to launch the trailer, he instantly agreed," the source said.
