Wrestling icon Sushil Kumar on Monday called the Narsingh Yadav dope saga "unfortunate" and also said that he will always support fellow wrestlers.
The 26-year-old Narsingh on Sunday flunked a dope test after his 'B' sample tested positive for a banned substance, jeopardising his chances of competing in what will be his second Summer Games.
Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil, who had approached the court to persuade the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) to grant him a trial against Narsingh to determine India's representation in the men's 74kg freestyle category in Rio, has been dragged in by allegations of having played a part in the episode.
"Very unfortunate 2 see the Wrestling go through this. I hv given my life to it & wl always support fellow wrestlers," Sushil wrote on Twitter.
"It was my wish to extend my Olympics medal of tally of three. But now I have been away from Olympic preparations for a month. Now, I support my fellow wrestlers and I hope that they bring medals home."
