Sushma Swaraj to attend Bandung Conference

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is to attend the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference in Indonesia this week.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted this information.

The 1955 Asian-African Conference, a meeting of representatives of 29 African and Asian nations, was held at Bandung, Indonesia. The conference ultimately led to the establishment of the Nonaligned Movement in 1961.

Minister of State for External Affairs V.K. Singh, who is attending the ministerial conference in Jakarta, said that India is committed to combating terrorism in all its forms and will engage with other countries on the matter both bilaterally as well as multilaterally.

 

"India is committed to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations in a composite form. India would be willing to engage with other countries both bilaterally and through multilateral arrangements to combat terrorism," he said during the ministerial meeting.
