Indian lyricist-playback singer Swanand Kirkire and British Bangladeshi writer Tahmima Anam will be among the speakers at the upcoming Jaipur Literature Fest (JLF).
The literature festival, to be held from January 19 to January 23 next year, will also have internationally acclaimed poet Anne Waldman, award-winning British poet and novelist Ruth Padel, British writer and journalist Simon Winchester, according to the announcement made on Tuesday.
The festival expects to welcome over 250 authors, thinkers, politicians, journalists, and popular culture icons. The year 2017 will mark 10 years of the festival and its meteoric rise from a small gem of an idea to one of the world's largest free literary festivals.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the JLF will announce 10 speakers every week.
The names announced this week include Hindi author Narendra Kohli, Vikram Chandra, Italian writer and publisher Roberto Calasso, Scottish art historian Neil MacGregor and American Journalist Dexter Filkins.
