Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said his government is fighting corruption by all possible means and ensuring a leakage-proof system in the government subsidies.

"We are fighting a big fight against corruption and ushering in a revolution," he said here while inaugurating three social welfare schemes meant for financial inclusion.

Refering to the newly-introduced scheme of directly paying the subsidy on cooking gas to the user's bank account, he said: "We are sending the LPG (cooking gas) subsidy directly to the bank account. This is the biggest subsidy across the globe which is benefiting over 12 crore Indians. By adopting this mean, we have been able to plug hundreds of crores of monetary leakages."

He said his government is keen to ensure transparency in the system and ensure the poorer section of the society is benefited by the government's schemes.

"The poor doesn't need help; they need to be empowered," he said.

He said his government started the Mudra Bank as part of the Union Budget which has benefited 5.5 crore people across the country.
