At least 12 police personnel have been killed in clashes with Taliban militants in Afghanistan's Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.
"Hundreds of Taliban militants launched coordinated attacks on Monday night, triggering heavy gunfights lasting for hours. Fifteen other people were injured," Xinhua news agency reported citing a provincial government spokesman.
Several militants were also killed and wounded during the gun battle, he added.
The Taliban militants have staged several coordinated large-scale attacks against Afghan cities and districts since launching a yearly rebel offensive on April 25.
