Leading IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday announced working with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) to deploy its iON cloud solutions for transforming the way doctors interact with other.
"TCS has worked closely with RCPI to determine our needs and to ensure that the technology we deploy enables us to equip our members for the medical world of today and tomorrow," said RPCI Chief Executive Leo Kearns in a statement.
Called the physical network, TCS iON enables virtual common interest communities to facilitate practical knowledge sharing, allowing doctors to collaborate from any location around the world.
"The education sector is facing a revolutionary change globally with evolving needs of the institutes and the students. TCS iON is a superior cloud based solution that addresses these changes and enables institutions to enhance the experience of their stakeholders," said TCS iON global head V. Ramaswamy.
With the applied technology, RPCI has also digitised its assessment process, doing away with paper-baed examinations and thereby saving costs.
TCS iON Digital Assessment Platform is also enabling doctors from Ireland, India, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Malaysia to take the internationally acclaimed Membership Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) examinations.
TCS iON is a strategic unit of the Indian IT major, focused on manufacturing industries, educational institutions and exam boards, with its IT-as-a-Service model offering end-to-end business solutions.
