A Jaipur-based NGO has come out with an innovative idea to spread knowledge on laws and first aid techniques.
Legalmitra, which works for policy advocacy and legal awareness, has distributed over a lakh disposable printed tea cups with messages about various Indian laws and first aid techniques to over 250 thadis (roadside tea stalls) in Rajasthan's six districts.
Each of these cups has a different message printed on it in Hindi. There are cups that talk about how to deal with sexual offences against children and first aid techniques in case of stroke and head injuries.
Legalmitra convenor Ritesh Sharma told IANS: "Thadi culture (roadside tea stalls) has always been around with conversations, discussions and debates. Most of us have enjoyed tea on roadside 'thadi'."
"When you sip tea, you are most likely to take a second look at the cup. Haven't we seen people reading newspaper or magazine on which they have been served food items on roadside eateries? These tea cups are a good vehicle to create awareness about the right to freedom and expression," Sharma said.
