A teenager was gunned down by five youths after a quarrel over betting in south Delhi, police said on Monday, adding that the prime accused has been arrested.
Sahil, 16, was taking a walk in a DDA Park at Tigri after dinner on Sunday night when he was shot twice by the accused, who also beat him up.
"We received a call regarding firing at JJ Camp in Tigri. Sahil sustained two bullet injuries and was admitted in an unconscious state in Batra Hospital," Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.
On January 26, Sahil had had a quarrel with neighbour Sajid over betting at his house, following which police registered cross-FIRs against both sides.
"While Sahil was strolling in the park, Sajid along with accomplices Shaukat Ali, Sabir, Sonu, and Saleem beat him up before shooting him with a countrymade pistol," the officer added.
