Telugu remake rights of 'Thani Oruvan' bought for Rs.5.5 crore

The Telugu remake rights of latest Tamil blockbuster "Thani Oruvan" have been bagged for a whopping Rs.5.5 crore by producer D.V.V. Danayya, who will produce the film with actor Ram Charan in the lead.

"The remake rights have been acquired for Rs.5.5 crore. The regular shooting is expected to start from later this year," a source close to Danayya told IANS.

While the pre-production work has already begun, the process of finalising the director is underway.

Reportedly, M. Raja, the director of the original film may helm the Telugu version as well.

"Nothing has been confirmed so far. Talks are going on and it's too early to say anything," the source added.

 

"Thani Oruvan", which has already grossed over Rs.70 crore worldwide, is a stylish thriller about the face-off between a righteous policeman and a rich, conniving entrepreneur.
