At least ten people were killed and over 20 injured Friday when a booby-trapped car exploded in a pro-government district of Syria's Homs province, local media reported.
The explosion tore through the Ekrima neighbourhood of Homs while worshippers were leaving a mosque after performing Friday's traditional noon prayers, Xinhua reported citing media reports.
Syrian government troops recently launched an offensive against rebel-held districts in the old quarter of Homs to dislodge the rebels and secure Homs, destroying rebel positions and killing an undisclosed number of them.
