A medical test has confirmed that a 13-year-old girl was raped repeatedly over an year in a Ghaziabad ashram by three co-workers, police said Tuesday. Two accused have been arrested.

"The girl's statement before a magistrate would be recorded Wednesday," said Inspector Upendra Yadav of Indirapuram police station.

Shiv Kumar Mehto alias Shiva, 20, and Baba Baishakhi Dass, 50, have been arrested for the rape at Gurukul Shanti Dham Ashram at Kaushambi. The third accused, Deshraj alias Varun, 35, is on the run, police said.

The girl, who worked and lived in the ashram, was last sexually assaulted in her room July 7, according to a police complaint filed by ashram manager Divya Yogmaya Saraswati.

The three accused raped her for over an year and threatened her to keep quiet. But when Shiva again tried to sexually assault her Sunday, she screamed for help and the ashram manager came to her rescue, police said.
