Thailand Post has released 9,999,999 postcards in memory of deceased King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Chakri dynasty, who reigned as Rama IX and died on October 13 at the age of 88.
On its website, the postal department described this as a gesture of gratitude towards the deceased monarch, who ruled the country for 70 years and was revered by the Thai people, reports Efe.
Available to order through the department's site, the postcards come wrapped in golden paper with a picture of Rama IX on the left and his stamp on the right, along with a poem selected by the postal department.
The death of King Bhumibol concluded a historic chapter of transformation in Thailand, which is observing a period of official mourning of 12 months to honour his memory.
Vajiralongkorn, his only son, proclaimed as Rama X by the country's Parliament on Decemeber 1, will be crowned after the period of mourning.
