'Thanga Meengal' gets thumbs up from Tamil film industry

Tamil drama "Thanga Meengal", set to release July 26, has already won the hearts of the people from the industry, including filmmakers such as Venkat Prabhu and Ramasamy.

Directed by Ramsubramaniam, "Thanga Meengal" is based on the relationship of a father and his daughter.

" 'Thanga Meengal' (is) a heartwarming movie. (I) watched it with my daughter! Both of us loved it! Awesome performances from everyone! Don't miss it," filmmaker Venkat Prabhu posted on his Twitter page.

Filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy also took to the microblogging platform, and described the film as "realistic" and "touchable".

Popular Tamil lyricist Madhan Karky said, "'Thanga Meengal' is not just a father-daughter movie. It has something meaningful to offer to everyone, especially for parents and teachers."

 

Director Ram plays the lead in the film, alongside child artist Sadhana, who plays his daughter. Shelly Kishore, Padmapriya and Rohini will be seen in important roles.

"Thanga Meengal" is produced by filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon along with Reshma Ghatala and Venkat Somasundaram.
