Bhargav Saikia's fantasy short film "The Black Cat" is set to have its world premiere at FilmQuest in Utah, US on Wednesday.
The short film which also stars veteran actor Tom Alter, is an official adaptation of a short story by Ruskin Bond.
"The Black Cat" will also have Shernaz Patel as Miss Bellows and has been nominated for the Best Fantasy Short Film Award at the festival which started on September 8 and will end on Saturday, read a statement.
The short film will also be screened at the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival in the Indian Competition section, Signs Festival in Kochi in the Fiction Competition section and McMinnville Short Film Festival in Oregon, US this month.
It will have a special screening at the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival in Guwahati, Assam on Sunday.
Shot in a colonial property near Nainital in Uttarakhand, which was built in the late 1880s by the British, the short film also features important landmarks in Mussoorie and Nainital.

The visual effects are done by Phantom-FX in Chennai who were also responsible for the VFX of major parts of "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion".
Other official film adaptations of Bond's stories include "7 Khoon Maaf", "The Blue Umbrella" and "Junoon".
