Even as security agencies continue the hunt for five of the six prisoners who escaped from the maximum security Nabha Jail on Sunday, three people were arrested on Tuesday by the Punjab Police in connection with the conspiracy for the sensational jailbreak.

The three were identified as Assistant Jail Superintendent Bhim Singh, jail Head Warden Jagmeet Singh and local sweet shop owner, Tejinder Sharma.

While the jail officials have been accused of helping the attackers in executing the conspiracy, the sweetshop owner has been arrested for not sharing information about the attack with police. The conspiracy, according to police sources, was hatched at his shop near the jail.

"They have been arrested on the charges of abetment and criminal conspiracy with the escapees and facilitating the jailbreak.

"Our investigations and raids are continuing. We will get to the bottom of things," a senior Punjab Police officer told IANS here.

Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) terrorist Harminder Singh Mintoo was arrested at the Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi on Monday, less than 24 hours after he and five others, escaped from the high-security jail as it was attacked by 10-12 armed men.

But still at large are militant Kashmir Singh and gangsters Harjinder Singh Bhullar alias Vicky Gounder, Gurpreet Singh Sekhon alias Sonu Mudki, Kulpreet Singh alias Neeta Deol and Amandeep Dhotian.

The Uttar Pradesh Police had on Sunday evening arrested Palwinder Singh Pinda, one of the attackers. Pinda - arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district - had confessed to having dropped Mintoo and Kashmir Singh, in Kaithal (Haryana).
