The BSF has apprehended three men and seized over eight kg of narcotics in operations near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal, an official said on Sunday.
In the first operation near the Nawada border outpost in Malda district, troopers of the Border Security Force intercepted three men moving suspiciously on a bike near the border on Saturday night.
"During frisking, 3.05 kg of brown powder, suspected to be opium, was seized from them. All the accused are residents of the district and were handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further legal action," said a BSF officer.
In another operation, troopers of the BSF's 43 battalion seized 3.5 kg of ganja from near the Narsaripara border outpost and 1.8 kg of ganja from near the Nandanpur border outpost in Nadia district on Saturday night.
