Three people -- a retired State Bank of India officer and two women -- were killed when a truck fell on their car on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, while 22 people were injured in another accident on the same highway in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, police said.
Twenty-two people were injured when the driver of their bus from Katra town to Udhampur town lost control over the wheel in Chopra Shop area on the highway in Udhampur district, a police official told IANS.
Eighteen injured passengers were being treated at the army's hospital in Udhampur town, while four were taken to the Udhampur district hospital.
In another accident earlier in the day, retired SBI officer Sukhdev Singh and two women were killed in Nashri (Batote) on the highway when a truck driver lost control over his vehicle which fell on top of the parked car in which the ill-fated occupants were seated.
All the three people were from a Sikh family of Hatmoora village in Anantnag district.
