Three persons in a mini motor van, including its driver, were killed after the vehicle rammed into a bus in West Bengal's Purulia district on Sunday, police said.

The accident took place on National Highway 32, near Purulia district's Shimulia area.

"Two passengers and the driver of a mini motor van died in a road accident this morning. It seems the motor van somehow lost control and crashed into a bus ahead," said an officer from Purulia M police station.

While the driver and a passenger sitting in the front of the van died on the spot, another passenger died later in the hospital, he said.

Police have seized the van as it is not allowed to ply on National Highways.

"A couple of other passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident. They have been released from the hospital after first aid," the officer added.
