Three militants of the United Achik Liberation Army (UALA) Wednesday surrendered with their weapons following the ongoing crackdown in the insurgency-ravaged areas of western Meghalaya.

The three identified as L.M. Marak, Walman Momin and Temil Marak surrendered before North Garo Hills district police chief Ricky Dkhar, a police official said.

The UALA is a splinter group of the breakaway faction of the Achik National Volunteers Council.

Police are interrogating the trio.
