Three political workers - two associated with the Awami National Party (ANP) and one with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) - were shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in the port city of Karachi, a media report said.
The attack took place Saturday near Lasbella Chowk, police told Dawn News.
Police said two men on a motorbike targeted Mukhtar Rasool, Naveed Ahmed and Mohammad Sarfaraz while they were sitting at the corner of a street.
One of the attackers pulled out a pistol and fired a number of shots at the three before riding away.
Ahmed and Sarfaraz were associated with the ANP while Rasool was a PTI activist.
The motive behind the attack was not clear, police said.
