Three people riding a motorcycle were run over by a train on the outskirts of Lucknow, police said on Thursday.
The mishap took place late Wednesday at the Bhaptamau crossing near Alamnagar.
The deceased were relatives and were headed for a marriage in Rajajipuram. In a hurry, they tried to jump the signal at a railway crossing, police said.
The dead have been identified as Sonu (32), Neeraj (35) and Lala (32).
The bodies were scattered over an area of 50 metres and the motorcycle was yet to be recovered.
"The train which ran them over was Himgiri Express," Inspector (Government Railway Police) D.K. Upadhyaya told IANS.
