Naples, Oct 5 (IANS/AKI) Police in Naples on Thursday arrested three youths for the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl in an upscale district of the southern Italian city in May and said they had incriminating evidence linking the trio to the attack.
The three youths are being held in a juvenile prison pending charges, police said.
Police launched an investigation when the teen reported that she was gang raped in an isolated spot at the Naples seaside resort of Marechiaro after one of the youths invited her for an ice-cream.
Two members of the gang took off her bikini while the others removed their clothes, surrounded her and took it in turns to rape her, according to the girl, who only told her parents in July of her ordeal.
The girl was able to show her mother photos of her alleged rapists on Facebook.
