Tibetan rugs, singing bowls, ritual objects and antiques, along with traditional Indian handicraft products will be displayed at the annual Dastkari Haat Craft Bazaar beginning Jan 1, organisers said Tuesday.
Apart from Tibetan products, eclectic mix of Indian crafts like ornamental ceramic pottery and copper items from Maharashtra, elaborate wood carvings, paintings and baskets from Arunachal Pradesh, contemporary block prints from Rajasthan, lacquered wood from Etikopakka, Andhra Pradesh, among others will be displayed at the bazaar which will take place till Jan 15 at Dilli Haat.
"This is a unique initiative to highlight our country's rich culture and heritage. Visitors will get an opportunity to witness the vibrant colours, delicate workmanship, and respect inspiring detailing of handicrafts which have been meticulously put together," founder Jaya Jaitly said in a statement.
There will also be an artisan exchange workshop where Tibetan craftpersons will engage in work with Indian counterparts from Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
