The capital's golf circuit is agog with the news of Tiger Woods coming to Delhi next week. The sport's most renowned figure is expected to play the full 18 holes at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) course and also sign a commercial deal with the Club.
Woods is in Dubai playing in Desert Classic along with two-time majors winner Rory McIllroy and from there he is expected to make a brief visit to the Indian capital.
"We were informed via an SMS from the DGC that they would be signing a deal with Tiger Woods," a DGC insider told IANS.
Hero MotoCorp MD and CEO Pawan Munjal is also scheduled to hold a dinner for Woods and it will be attended by corporate honchos and celebrities.
DGC president I.V.S. Juneja told a national daily Wednesday that Woods' visit is on but is yet to get a final confirmation. According to the daily, the American will play the entire 18 holes of the course which will not be open to other regulars that morning.
Officials at the DGC as well as Hero Motocorp were either difficult to reach or tight-lipped on the subject.
