Singer-actor Justin Timberlake will write and perform original songs for upcoming animation comedy "Trolls" in addition to voicing one of the characters.
Timberlake will serve as executive music producer for "Trolls", overseeing the creative direction for the film's music as well as performing several songs on the soundtrack, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The film follows two of the iconic 'Trolls', Branch and Princess Poppy, as they set off on an epic adventure. Timberlake is playing the character Branch, a hardcore survivalist who hides his surprising true colours.
"I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event (and) couldn't be more excited that they will collide in DreamWorks's 'Trolls'," Timberlake said in a statement.
"This film is very special, the music is going to be very special and I can't wait for everyone to experience it all," he added.
Co-directed by Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn, the film is set to release on November 4.
