Tamil Nadu Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao on Monday forwarded a copy of the memorandum and the compact disc (CD) submitted by DMK Working President M.K.Stalin to Speaker P.Dhanapal and Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan for appropriate action.
A statement issued here by the Principal Secretary to the Governor said that three requests made by Stalin to Rao in the Memorandum are matters already pending before the Madras High Court.
Stalin on Saturday petitioned Rao to order a fresh Vote of Confidence in the state assembly and order a probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the Prevention of Corruption Act and also by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence or the Enforcement Directorate to investigate offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Stalin and several senior leaders of the principal opposition party DMK met Rao and submitted a representation to him in the wake of a media sting in which an AIADMK legislator allegedly states that lawmakers were offered gold and large sums of money to vote in favour of Chief Minister K. Palaniswami during the confidence vote.
