Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could miss the season opener against Manchester United after fracturing his wrist.
The 28-year-old returned to pre-season training on Monday and suffered a crack on his wrist, reports dailymail.co.uk on Tuesday.
France international goalkeeper Lloris was made Tottenham's club captain at the end of last season. He reported back for pre-season raining with his Tottenham team-mates on Monday - but his participation will be severely restricted due to the fracture.
A statement from the club said, "The club can confirm that Hugo Lloris has sustained a fractured wrist during the close season period. The France goalkeeper will continue to work alongside the first team squad to build up his fitness in a bid to be ready for the start of the season".
"Our medical team will continue to monitor his rehabilitation and progress during pre-season."
Michel Vorm is currently Tottenham's second-choice goalkeeper and is waiting to take Lloris' place if necessary.
