Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela has been recalled to Argentina's national squad for friendlies against Mexico this month, the Argentine Football Association said.
The 26-year-old, who has been capped 23 times for the Albiceleste, has not represented his country since October 2016, having suffered a torrid run with injuries, reports Xinhua news agency.
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni did not include any players from River Plate or Boca Juniors, who will contest the Copa Libertadores final on November 7 and 28.
The omission of River Plate goalkeeper Franco Armani created space for Agustin Marchesin, who was rewarded for his fine form for Mexican club America. Scaloni also called up uncapped Racing Club midfielder Matias Zaracho.
Argentina will play Mexico in Cordoba on November 16 before a rematch in Mendoza four days later.
