Union Tourism Secretary Vinod Zutsi on Wednesday reviewed the policies and programmes for promoting tourism in Agra.
He said in view of the increasing number of tourists to the city, there was urgent need to streamline amenities for the tourists.
Zutsi, who attended a review meeting held at the Circuit house, said a new heritage circuit will be promoted.
Problems of approved guides, disposal of garbage at the monuments, cleaning of the approach roads and around historical buildings, the waxing issue of "lapkas" (cheats and con-men) and security and lighting arrangements were discussed during the meeting.
Tourism industry leaders stressed on the need for more ticket windows at the Taj Mahal, frisking machines at the gates and firm action against reselling of tickets.
