When actress Tracee Ellis Ross learnt she had been nominated for her first Emmy award, she first called her mother singer Diana Ross.

Tracee has been nominated for her work in the American sitcom "Black-ish" which will also compete in the Outstanding Comedy Series category, reports people.com.

"I got up and I ran and danced weirdly around my dining room. Then I opened my front door and I don't know where I thought I was trying to go, so I closed the door and I called my mom. She was really cute and we screamed for a little bit," Tracee said.

In addition to her first Emmy nod, Tracee's co-star Anthony Anderson was also nominated under the category of outstanding lead comedy actor.

"I was really excited when Anthony got nominated, then I was really excited when I got nominated, but the truth is that my thrill and over the moon-ness came from the show getting nominated," the 43-year-old said.
