Over a year after surviving a fatal car crash, comedian Tracy Morgan has joined back the TV show "Saturday Night Live".

Morgan, who suffered broken ribs, nose and a leg when a truck hit his vehicle in June 2014, was back on the show's stage on Saturday. His former "30 Rock" co-stars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBraver were there to help him mark the landmark moment, reports usmagazine.com.

Morgan started the evening off with a monologue. "People were wondering, 'Can he speak? Does he have 100 percent mental capacity?' But the truth is I never did," the 46-year-old star said as he opened the show. "I might actually be a few points higher now," he added.

He thanked his comedy family -- including the show's creator Lorne Michaels -- and revealed he'd reached out to the TV great a couple of months ago. "I said, 'Lorne, when I get back on my feet, I want to come home,' and here I am," he added.
