Trainee IAS officer killed in Punjab accident

An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer under training was killed when the vehicle in which he was travelling with other officers collided with a tree on a Punjab highway, police said Wednesday.

The accident took place early Wednesday in Moga district, 170 km from here, when the driver of the Toyota Innova lost control and hit a tree along a highway, police said.

The trainee IAS officer was identified as Nishaat Kumar, from Bihar. The injured were admitted to hospitals in Moga and Ludhiana, police said.
