Accusing the Left Front of entering into a "secret" alliance with the Congress in West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress Sunday said it would neither team up with the Congress nor the BJP for the Lok Sabha polls.

"There is nothing new in the fact that the Congress and the CPI-M have a secret tie-up. It is an open secret," Trinamool Congress all-India general secretary Mukul Roy told media persons here.

"But as for the Trinamool Congress, we have made it very clear that we will go neither with the Congress nor with the BJP. We will fight the elections on our own strength and emerge as a major player in the exercise to form the next (central) government," he said.

Roy described the Left Front rally at the Brigade Parade Ground earlier in the day as a "failure".

He said the rally failed to give any message to the people.

"The Left Front has failed to give any message to the people. Their rally showed a lack of principle. They will have to go on answering the people for the gross misrule during the 34 years they were in power," Roy said.
