Motorcycle manufacturers Triumph and DSK Hyosung Thursday launched two new bikes for the Indian market here at the 12th Auto Expo.

The Triumph Daytona 675 is a premium sports bike priced at Rs.10.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). A 675 cc three cylinder engine powers the bike which is expected to give the British bike maker "competitive edge within the super sports segment".

Triumph, which now has a total of 11 models including the Daytona, has received over 160 bookings till June 2014 and hopes to sell 1,000 bikes by the end of the year.

It will also be expanding its dealership network from the current two - Bangalore and Hyderabad - to seven more cities, including Delhi, by April-end.

The range of Triumph bikes in India is priced between Rs.5.75 and Rs.24.5 lakh.

The DSK Hyosung, making its debut at the mega automobile event, launched a cruiser bike - Aquila 250 - at a price tag of Rs.2.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The bike is powered by a 250 cc V twin engine producing over 26 bhp (brake horse power) at 9,500 rpm. The bike gets generous amounts of chrome including its alloy wheels and engine parts apart from two-tone coloured seat.

As a more powerful variant of Aquila, having a 650 cc engine, is already present in the market, the new bike is aimed at those looking for maximum bang for their buck.

DSK group is based in Pune and entered into a collaboration with the Korean bike maker Hyosung in 2012.
