Border Security Force (BSF) troopers guarding the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday opened fire after they noticed suspicious movements, police said.

"During the night, BSF troopers at Khora (Samba) border outpost fired three to four rounds of automatic gunfire after noticing suspicious movements near their post," a police officer told IANS.

"There was no retaliation," he added.

Such firing is done by the BSF and the army guarding the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) in the state to foil infiltration attempts by militants.

Security forces are on a vigil after the Gurdaspur terror attack in Punjab earlier this week.
