Turkish police on Tuesday arrested 30 suspected members of the Islamic State (IS) terror group in a security operation in the province of Konya.

According to state-run Dogan news agency, security teams carried out simultaneous raids on the residences of alleged IS members in Konya and the city of Cumra, Efe news reported.

Turkish authorities have intensified their operations against IS since October 10 when 102 people were killed in a double suicide attack at a massive peace rally in capital Ankara.

Furthermore, the province of Diyarbakir was the scene of armed clashes in another police operation on Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of two policemen and seven jihadis.
