Turkey's U-18 basketball squad has won the Eurobasket championship held in Latvia, beating Croatia 81-74 in the final.

Playmaker Kenan Sipahi put in a star performance Sunday, scoring 19 points and setting up six assists. He was ably assisted by Okben Ulubay who had 12 points and Metecan Birsen 11 points, reports Xinhua.

Lovro Mazalin's 15 points and eight rebounds were not enough for the Croats, who were outplayed during the whole second half of the game.

The win led Turkey's basketball players to their first European title in their history.
