Turkish football club Besiktas's midfielder Gokhan Tore and five others were wounded in an armed assault at a nightclub in Istanbul.
Following the derby game against Fenerbahce Sunday, Tore and his teammates had reportedly gone to a nightclub in Sisli's Esentepe neighbourhood in Istanbul Monday, where Tore and five others were shot at by a man, reports Xinhua.
The incident reportedly took place after the man's girlfriend complained about Tore disturbing her.
Besiktas said in a statement that Tore had nothing to do with provoking the armed assault and that police have started an investigation into the incident.
Tore, who was shot in the shoulder, was immediately taken to Florence Nightingale Hospital for treatment.
